Alma 'Mutt' Beard Rippeon , 95, of Mt. Pleasant, Maryland died at Heartfields of Frederick Assisted Living on November 10, 2010.
Born April 27, 1915, near Libertytown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary E. Lare Beard. She was the wife of Austin 'Boots' H. Rippeon, who predeceased her in 1995.
She had formerly been employed at the Walkersville Sewing Factory, and the McCrory's snack bar. She was a member of Chapel Lutheran, and Mt. Pleasant methodist church.
'Mutt' and 'Boots' were also co-owners of Ceresville motor company before they sold the business in 1979.
Other than spoiling her grandchildren, she enjoyed lawn work, growing vegetables, crabbing, and fishing during her golden years.
In December 1998 she became a resident at Heartfields of Frederick where she had been entertaining her caregivers for the past twelve years.
Surviving are four grandchildren,
Austin D. Rippeon Jr., DDS of Frederick, Wesley P.D. Rippeon of Lake Forest, California, Hope D. Rippeon-Heller of Seattle, and Ryan A. Rippeon U.S.N. of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary E. Knill,
Lucille M. Flook, and Ruth E. Foreman, and three brothers, John E., Paul E., and Donald D. Beard.
Her only son A. Delmar Rippeon Sr., died in 2004.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel Lutheran Church,
11109 Daysville Road, Libertytown
with Rev. Dorothy A. Lundgren officiating.
