Mrs. Alma Geneva Clay, 84 of New Market, Maryland died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Glade Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville. She was the loving wife of Albert S. Clay, her husband of 64 years.
Born February 18, 1927 in Max Meadows, VA she was the daughter of the late Cephas A. and Ethel S. Raines.
She was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church in Plane No.4. She worked for AT&T Telephone Company for approximately twenty three years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and shopping.
In addition to her loving husband Albert, she is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Clay and wife Darlene of Middletown, Mike Clay and wife Debbie of Walkersville, her grandsons, Evan Clay and wife Jessica of Camp Hill, PA, Adam Clay and wife Brittany of Keymar, MD, three great grandchildren and a sister, Cynthia F. Jackson and husband Clyde of Frederick.
She is preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Dale Clay, her four brothers, Willard, Cephas T., Franklin and Paul Raines and four sisters, Ellen Wilt, Frances Cartright, Myrtle Peraro and Edith Gardner.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Glade Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville for the kind and gracious care that was given to her.
Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
Services will be private.
