Allen Howard Twiss

Allen H. Twiss of Frederick, died on November 21, 2022 at the age of 90.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy M. Twiss.  

Born on October 27, 1932, in Hudson City, NY he was the only child of the late Howard C. Twiss and Dorothy (Johnson) Twiss.  He was a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force retiring in 1972 with the rank of Master Sergeant.  Allen was a trusted insurance agent/financial planner in the Frederick area for over 24 years, working alongside his wife Dottie in their Allstate office until retirement.  In their retirement they embarked on many cross-country adventures in their RV as well as spending time with their grandchildren.

Allen is survived by his children, Lori Twiss of Waynesboro, PA, Timothy Twiss and wife Lisa of Towson, MD, stepsons Douglas VanDeventer of Ranson, WV, Steven VanDeventer and wife Christina of New Market, MD, grandchildren Kayla Twiss, Michael Twiss Jr, Owen VanDeventer, Hannah VanDeventer Siena Twiss, Leo Twiss, Christopher Twiss and one great-grandchild Denver Lynn Twiss.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
