Allen Crocker

Mr. Allen E. Crocker, 33, of Sabillasville, entered eternal rest suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home.

Born on June 21, 1979 at Womack Army Hospital in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where his father was stationed, Allen was the son of Mark A. and Jocelyn S. Crocker of Sabillasville.

Allen went to school in Frederick County, first attending Valley Elementary then Middletown Middle and High schools. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He took his first deer at the age of 9, and he was very successful at fishing for Blue Catfish on the lower Potomac River with his best catch being a 54 pounder. Allen was fond of Late Model dirt track racing, and Drag Strip racing. He accompanied the race team of Efantis Racing across the country. Many of Allen's friends remember when he was seen on an episode of Pinks, that featured the team's race car.

He loved dogs and was a breeder of American Pit Bull Terriers at Mountain Trail Kennels of Sabillasville. Allen was an avid Washington Redskins fan, attending many home games with his father, son, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Allen is survived by his son, Ethan R. Crocker of Frederick; his sister, Rebecca, and her husband, Stephen Ness, of Thurmont; sister, Stacey, and her husband, Andrew Smith, of Thurmont; his grandparents, Russell Crocker of Frederick, Clair and Jacqueline Ebersole of Rosemont; uncles and aunts, David and Kim Crocker of Rohrersville, Barry and Carol Bussard of Middletown, Laura Crocker and James MacKenzie of Frederick, Michael and Jeannie Crocker of Walkersville, Larry and Cheri Pentoney of Maugansville, Theresa Hill of Winchester, and Angela Giftt of Knoxville; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Allen also will be remembered by Randi Cannon, the mother of his son.

He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Crocker, Jr.; his grandmother, Janet Crocker; his grandfather, Wayne Hill; and an uncle, Keith Hill.

A memorial service for Allen will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Thurmont United Methodist Church, 13880 Long Road, Thurmont. The Rev. Katie Bishop of New Hope Methodist Church of Greater Brunswick will officiate.

There will be no viewing or graveside services. Flowers are welcome at the church. Contributions may be made in Allen's name to a fund for Ethan Riley Crocker at any Wells Fargo Bank.

Contributions also may be made to the Frederick County 4-H Shooting Sports Club. Please make checks payable to Frederick County EAC and mail to the Frederick County Extension Office, Attn: 4-H Office, 330 Montevue Lane, Frederick, MD 21702. Please note Shooting Sports Club on check.

Arrangements are being handled by Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, and Stauffer Crematory, Inc. of Frederick.
