Allen Douglas Collins, 39, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed suddenly from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on May 27, 1975, in Rockville, Maryland, he is the son of Austin L. Collins of Frederick, Maryland, and the late Treva Eileen (Schrock) Collins.
He was currently employed as the general manager at Famous Dave's in Laurel, Maryland, having previously worked in the same job at the restaurant in Sterling, Virginia. He had been promoted from his position as manager from the restaurant in Frederick.
Allen will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will always remember his love for the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.
In addition to his father and step-mother Susan, he is survived by his wife, Heather J. (Kane) Collins; his daughter, Eileen M. Collins; his paternal grandfather, Orbin Collins and wife Mildred of Inwood, West Virgina; and his wife's parents, Henry and Carol Kane of Keedysville. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his cat Ozzy.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. John J. Jicha will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the funeral home.
