Alicia M. (Nick) Myers, 91, of Nick Road in Chestnut Grove, Maryland passed peacefully while surrounded by her family at her daughter's home on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
Born on July 21, 1918 in Trego, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maude (Mullendore) Nick.
Her husband, Mervin W. Myers preceded her in death on the same day in 1998.
Alicia was a lifetime member of the Chestnut Grove Bible Church.
She was also a member of the the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 Auxillary in Boonsboro and the Amvets Post 10 Auxillary in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Myers was the co-founder with her husband in 1965 of the K & M Grocery in Chestnut Grove and was retired from Fairchild Industies where she had worked as a Rivetor and Sealer.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan M. Keller of Chestnut Grove, Maryland; one sister, Doloris Morgan of Chestnut Grove; one grandson, Brad Keller and his wife Lisa of Chestnut Grove; one granddaughter, Amy and her husband Frankie Lum of Boonsboro, Maryland; three great grandchildren, Nick and Emily Lum and Brooks Myers Keller; and three step-great grandchildren, Brandi, Britnee and Bradley Harbaugh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her canine friend and close companion Buddy.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurston (Bubby) Nick and Gilbert Nick; and one sister, Elizabeth (Sug) Salamone.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Pastor Dan Hanshew will officiate. Interment will follow at Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
