Alice K. Thompson
January 24, 1924 — October 17, 2008
Mrs. Alice K. Thompson, 84, formerly of Frederick passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 at her home in Edinburg, VA. She was the wife of the late Joseph Morgan Thompson.
Born on January 24, 1924 in Kemptown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ivy Davis) and Charles Nehouse. Alice was a dietician for many years at the Asbury Methodist Home in Gaithersburg, MD.
She attended the First Church of Columbia Furnace in Edinburg, and in her spare time love to enjoy the music at the Woodstock Moose Family Center. Alice's hobbies included collecting owls, salt shakers, lamps, playing both BINGO and dominos. She was a former member of the Senior Citizens Club in the Beltsville/Clarksburg area.
Survivors include her three daughters, Josephine Dove and husband Jerald of Adamstown, Ivy Jane VanWinkle and husband Henry of Boonsboro, and Ruth Ann Mowell of Poolesville; four sons, Joseph Makel Thompson and wife Jo of Martinsburg, WV, Albert Lee Thompson of Poolesville, John Morgan Thompson and wife Dorothy of Frederick and Donald Wayne Thompson and wife Connie of Frederick; 24 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a sister, Anna Payne and husband Elwood of Baltimore; a daughter-in-law, Linda Thompson of Inwood, WV; a sister-in-law, Cathryn Nehouse of Mt. Airy; her niece Mary Jean Hall of Edninburg,VA and several other nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie William Thompson, a sister, Mildred Keeney, a brother, Edward Nehouse, a daughter-in-law, Mary Thompson and a son-in-law Donald Lee Mowell.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 until 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick,MD.
Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brian Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick
