Alice Estella Mills, of Sharpsburg, Maryland went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1928, in Antietam Furnace, Maryland to the late John William Myers and the Ida Ruth (Otzelberger) Myers. Alice, known by family and friends as “Babe”, married her childhood sweetheart, (the late) George Andrew Mills, on October 26, 1947.
She was a member of the Antietam First Church of God since birth where she taught Sunday School for many years sharing God’s love with the children. Babe was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the First Church of God sharing her faith and grace. Babe worked throughout her life on the family dairy farm starting and ending each day milking their herd of Holsteins cows. Her days were spent caring for her four children, tending her large garden and cooking meals for the family and farm employees. Babe and George were also members of the Farm Bureau of Washington County.
Upon retirement, Babe and George spent twenty-four winters in Mesa, Arizona living at Carriage Manor. They traveled to all fifty states in the United States as well as Canada and England. They also enjoyed cruising, with Panama Canal being her last cruise. With Babe’s extra free time she loved to use her creative side and decorate bears, paint pictures and decorate clothes and other projects. She loved to share her crafts at the Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren, where they became members. She loved to cook with her daughters, granddaughters and her great-grandchildren. Black Friday was always a special time to "shop until you drop.” They always had their special Christmas celebration with family and friends before returning to Arizona for the winter.
Babe is survived by her four children, Linda Draper (the late David) of Muncie, Indiana, Sharon Ingram (the late Ronald) of Sharpsburg, Maryland, Earl Mills (Kim) of Findlay, Ohio and Ellen Arlene King (Robert) of Sharpsburg, Maryland. Babe is survived by six grandchildren, Laura Weddle (Jason), Andrew Draper (Leslie), Jonathan Mills (Edith), Bradley Ingram (Dana), Jeffrey Mills and Charlie Mills; and eight great-grandchildren.
Babe was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Parker and Joyce Ingram; and brothers, Allen Myers and Ronald Myers.
