Alice M. Bonifant, 87, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Golden Living Center, after an extended illness.
Born June 8, 1928, she lived most of her life in the Montgomery County Metro Area.
She is survived by her daughters Dixie Lee Kelly, Julie Anne and her husband Bobby Quillen, and her son Joseph and his wife Carolyn Bonifant. She is also survived by her sister Constance Staliper, brother Donald Crawford, her special friend Greg, many nieces, nephews, and grand and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin C. Bonifant, her sisters Charlotte Tyo and Lynnie Crawford, her son Carl Bonifant and son-in-law Skip Kelly.
Her life was often defined by her dedication to her job as an accountant for the FDA. Having a job and a car were important to her. She liked to go places and do things. She could not sit still and let time slip by. She will be missed by her family and many friends at the FDA.
When she was born she grabbed a Tiger by the Tail, and never let go. She lived life to its fullest and on her terms. She has now gone home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
