Mr. Alfred "Fred" Mullendore Huffer, age 79, of Boonsboro, MD., died Friday, February 20, 2009 at the home of his sister in Boonsboro.
Born February 25, 1929 in Trego, MD, he was the sone of the late Wilber Alfred Huffer and Gladys Irene Mullendore Huffer.
Mr. Huffer was employed at the Ford Dairy Farm for 17 years after graduation from Boonsboro H. S. in 1947. In the early 1960's, he and his brother were self employed , trading as Huffer Builders and Huffer Brothers for 26 years. After retirement he and his brother, Delbert worked on their farm in Boonsboro.
Fred was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church. He was a very active bowler for many years.
Fred is survived by his siter Diane Smith and husband Paul and his brother Delbert Huffer and wife Delores, nieces Karen Smith, Teresa Shifler, Lori Gudgson , Gina Smith and Kimberly Huffer, nephews Bret Smith and Mark Smith. Four great nieces, seven great nephews and one great great niece.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
