Mr. Alexander John Gadomski Jr. age 71, formerly of Albany, New York, passed away on April 22, 2016 at Vindobona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Braddock Heights, Maryland.
Born September 6, 1944 in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Alexander and Mildred Gadomski.
Mr. Gadomski served with the Navy Reserve and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, from Oswego State University in Oswego, New York.
He was a microbiologist in Washington D.C. and an insurance agent for Allstate Insurance Company. Later in life, he worked for Fort Detrick, and Frederick County Public schools.
He was an avid marathon runner, competing in many marathons including the Boston, New York City, and Marine Corps marathons. He also enjoyed swimming laps on a daily basis and gardening.
Mr. Gadomski was Catholic and was a member of the AMVETS, Frederick Post #2 Inc. and the American Legion, Post #0011.
He is survived by his sister Alice Cirillo and husband Michael Cirillo of Delmar, NY; son Dr. Christopher John Gadomski and husband Dr. Donald T. Frank of Altadena, CA; daughter Jacqueline Gadomski-Gibbons and husband Richard L. Gibbons Jr. of Frederick, MD; niece Kim Cirillo Wickham and husband Dean Wickham of Delmar, NY; nephew Todd Cirillo of Saratogo Springs, NY; and former spouses, late Mary Mcknight, and Myra B. Eiker-Gadomski, (Penny) of Altadena, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (Delmar) and burial at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
