Aldeth Valerie (Wade) Moore , 93, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Fahrney - Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger Edwin Moore for 68 years. 

Born on October 12, 1930, in Trego, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Luther and Lillian Marie (Forrest) Wade.

Aldeth was a 1948 graduate from Boonsboro High School and received her bachelor’s degree in business from Shepherd University, WV and her Master's in Reading from Hood College in Frederick, MD. She retired in 1996 from the Washington Co. Board of Education having worked as a teacher at Western Heights Middle School in Hagerstown. Aldeth was a member of the Beaver Creek Christian Church where she had served as an Elder and a Deacon. She was a charter member of the Antietam Lioness Club and had served as the longtime secretary of the Sharpsburg Lions Club and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow with Lions International and an Arnall Patz Fellow with the Lions Vision Research Foundation. Aldeth, along with her husband Roger, were always thankful that they were able to continue with service projects each month to both Fahrney Keedy Home & Village and Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro. Aldeth was a longtime member of the Morris-Frock American Legion Post #42 Auxilliary and a Charter member of an elite dining group, the Ding-Dong Diners; a group of educators who went out to dine once a month for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Craig E. Moore and wife Lana of Boonsboro and Wade M. Moore and wife Jayne of Hagerstown; and one brother-in-law Charles of Biglerville, PA. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Roger S. Moore, two sisters, Phyllis N. Hoffman and Theresa Grim; two brothers, Elmer L. Wade, Jr., and Gerald Wade; and one sister-in-law Lois Leatherman. 

Services and interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Beaver Creek Christian Church, 9711 Beaver Creek Church Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or a charity of your choice.
