Albert Eugene Thobois

Mr. Albert Eugene Thobois, 93, of Mt. Pleasant died on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was husband of Martha Louise Petran Thobois whom he married on December 26, 1936, and predeceased him on March 10, 2000.

Born on June 8, 1915, in Four States, WV he was the son of the late Clement Theophile Eugene and Ida Angeline Bouillet Thobois.

In his younger years he worked as a coal miner in WV, as a construction worker for Gunite Construction Co. and retired as vice president of Moeller Pools. Inc., which built pools in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. Albert enjoyed making home and auto repairs; reading, crossword puzzles, art and drawing; and was an accomplished woodworker, maker of many things including: deacon benches, collapsible baskets, cars, picture frames, clocks and doll houses.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Carol Jean Frank and husband John Ray and Deborah Louise Mount and husband John William all of New Market; 4 granddaughters: Joan Carol Frank and husband John Bartell, Julie Beth Frank and husband Michael Mick Montague, Erin Lindsay Frank and fiance Zak Wolfe and Tracey Anne Landers; 2 great grandchildren: Jaclyn Jackie Bartell and Sage Wolfe; nieces: Thelma Kees and daughter Sharon Kees and family, Katie Jordan and husband James and family; nephew, Richard Petran and wife Susan; cousins: Max and Alma Bouillet, Frances and Patsy Thobois; as well as special friends and neighbors: the Benjamin Keller family and the Jerry Fouche family.

Mr. Thobois was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jenna Bartell and sister, Fernande Fernie) Margaret Osborne.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Thursday, April 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 24, with Rev. Richard Baker of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
