Alberta Ellen Weldon

Alberta Ellen Weldon, 85, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on September 20, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert Greenwald and Violet Marie (Harkins) Greenwald.

Alberta had worked for Facelifters Kitchens in Feasterville, PA. After moving to Frederick, she worked at the American Legion Post 11 for several years. After leaving the American Legion, she began work at a small construction firm. The most important job she held was that of homemaker and mother to her three children.

She was a member of the Elks Club in Frederick.

Alberta was a warm, kind, caring person who enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She always enjoyed being out and active, whether at lunch with the Lunch Bunch or on the many bus tours taken with the Seniors Group from Mt. Airy. On days that were free she enjoyed lunches with their group at the AMVETS or shopping at her favorite stores.

Time with her family was also very important. Holidays were always spent with as much of the family that could be in Maryland. There were many trips down to North Carolina visiting her oldest son and his family. She had also visited her grandson that lives in South Carolina. Although in recent years the trips had to be a little closer to home, there were many years that my parents spent traveling abroad. They have enjoyed trips to many places such as Scotland, Ireland, Thailand, China, Australia and Brazil, just to list a few.

Alberta loved life and embraced each and every day. She will be missed greatly by her beloved husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her spirit will forever remain close to our hearts and every cherished memory will remain in our minds as a lifetime of love spent with her can never be forgotten.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John Weldon, sons John Weldon his Wife Kristel, Tom Weldon his wife Penn, daughter Debbie Clingan her husband John Clingan, grandchildren, Aidan and Carleigh Weldon, TJ, Thosapol and Nic Weldon, Colton, Cameron and Caylin Clingan, great-grandchildren, Kyler and Klayton Weldon, and nephew Eddie Weldon.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
