Albert "Vince" Schulze, Sr., 88, of Woodbine, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on September 5, 1926, in Hyattsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Albert and Mabel (Powell) Schulze.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred B. Schulze on Februrary14, 2009.

Vince graduated from Mt.  Rainier High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Poplar Springs, in Woodbine, Maryland.

Vince was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII.

He devoted his entire life as a farmer and took great pride in his farm, Lone Cedar Farm in Woodbine, named after the tree that is still on the property. His mother started the farm during the Depression where Vince, his mother, father, and brother, continued to run the farm in later years.  In later years when his parents retired, Vince, his brother, and his son, John, took over the farm; where it is still in operation in Adelphi, Maryland and New Market, Maryland.

Vince enjoyed playing sports in his younger years, especially football and baseball.

Vince is survived by his seven children, Bernard W. Schulze (Mary Ellen), of West Friendship, Maryland, Dwight E. Schulze (Donna) of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Gerald L. Schulze (JoAnn) of Mt. Airy, John W. Schulze (Cornelia) of Sykesville, Maryland, Albert V. Schulze, Jr. and his girlfriend, Sherry, of Woodbine, Maryland, James M. Schulze (Karen) of Woodbine, Maryland, and Diane M. Sales (Terry) of Inwood, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. He is also survived by his three sisters, Eleanor Jones, Mildred Poole, and Doris  Jones; and his brother, Leonard Schulze.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in Albert's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601
