Akiko Kojima Dopp, 81, of Walkersville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born March 25, 1933 in Tokyo, Japan.
Akiko was pre-deceased by her parents, both in Japan, her husband, Donald Dixon Dopp in 1989 and an infant son, Christopher Lee Dopp in 1962.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Johnson of Martinsburg, and Renae Hebb of Walkersville. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Christopher Johnson and Steven Johnson, both of Martinsburg and a sister and brother and numerous nieces and nephews in Japan.
She worked as a flower designer for Sharpes Flowers, Inc. for many years only fully retiring when the shop closed its doors in 2014.
She will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit and warm and loving personality.
The family will be receiving friends at a celebration and remembrance of her life on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 6-8 at Stauffer’s Funeral Home on Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
