Agnes I. Gillespie

Mrs. Agnes I. Gillespie, 73 of Emmitsburg, MD., died Monday, April 26, 2010 at the College View Nursing Center.

Born May 18, 1936 in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene Stouter Haley.

Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the Edwin C. Creeger, American Legion Post #168 and the AMVETS Post # 7. In earlier years, she was employed in the meat department at Jubilee. She enjoyed holding and going to yard sales, mushroom hunting, flowers, watching birds and squirrels.

She is survived by two daughters Cindy Marshall and husband Bruce of Fairfield, PA and Yvonne Gillespie of Kansas and two sons Dean Gillespie of Emmitsburg and Alan G. Gillespie and wife Sherry of Gettysburg, four grandchildren Michael Beard, Jr and wife Heidi of Woodsboro, MD, Raelei Noel Gillespie of Kansas and Jennifer and Janice Gillespie, and one great grandson Thomas William Beard. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She will also remembered by her ex-husband Bill Gillespie of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by a sister Rachel Hobbs.

Services: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, MD, Friday, April 30, 2010 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. and on Saturday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

Cremation will follow at the request of Mrs. Gillespie.
