Mrs. Agnes M. Eyler Stitely, 87, of Thurmont died on Friday February 7, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Norman A. Eyler to whom she was married 45 years and the late Norman I. Stitely to whom she was married 18 years.
Born on February 9, 1926 in Thurmont she was the daughter of the late Morris F. Baker and Hazel M. Fuss Green.
Agnes worked for over 20 years at the Claire Frock Company. She enjoyed spending time and reminiscing with her family and friends. She was a member of Weller U. M. C, the Thurmont Am vets Post 7, the Thurmont American Legion # 168, the Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club and the Guardian Hose Co. Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children; Norman “Bud” Eyler and wife Nena, Shelby Wangness and husband Robert and Kay Fisher and husband Dennis. Grandchildren, Dureck, Shelly, Craig and Brandi. Great Grandchildren, Garrett, Morgan, Bailie, Dylan and Owen. Sister Violet Trumpower. Nephew Larry Green and Nieces Chris Ann and Cindy. Also remembered by special friends, Joan, Barb, Lorraine, Penny and Skipper. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Eyler. Brothers Clifford Green Jr. and Morris L. Baker.
Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 North Altamont Avenue, Thurmont, MD. 21788. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Bob Kells will officiate.
