Agnes Kauffman

Mrs. Agnes Virginia Cassandra ( Martin ) Kauffman, 96, of Ladiesburg, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, September 13, 2010.  She was preceded in death by her husband Merhl David Kauffman and her son Eugene Merhl Kaufman.

Born on March 6th, 1914 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Dory and Maggie B. ( Staub ) Martin.  Growing up in Fountain Rock in Frederick county She eventually settled down in Ladiesburg where she owned and ran Kaufman’s grocery Store with her husband during the 60’s and 70’s .

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Helen Kaufman and grandchildren; Beverly, Joan, Pamela, Geoffrey, Merhl, Michael, Rod, Darrin and Destri.  Her great-grandchildren; include Bethany Culler, Chad Young, Christopher Creager, Garret Kaufman, Josh Kaufman, Kate Clem, Rod Kaufman, Jr., Aaron Kaufman, Timmy Kaufman, Jeremy Kaufman, Steven Kaufman, Christopher Lee Heck, Marissa Lorrain Mascenik and Emily Elizabeth Kaufman.  Great-great grandchildren; Katelyn Marie Culler and Boden Tyler Kaufman.  She also leaves behind two constant companions- Her poodles, Dolly and Betsy.

Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Friday, September 17th, from 11:30 a.m. To 1:00 p.m. At which time services will begin. Rev. Terry Culler will officiate. Interment in Glade Cemetery.
