Agnes Margaret Grimes, 88, of Walkersville died on February 23, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late James C. Grimes.
Born on January 26, 1925 in Frederick she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Maude Hahn Shank.
She was an avid baker and was known to others as a kind and nurturing person who spent most of her life as a day care provider loving and caring for children well into her seventies.
She is survived by her son Jim Grimes of Walkersville. Grandchildren Holly Fouche and husband Edward of Walkersville, Shannon Groomes and husband Doug of Keedysville, Ryan Grimes of Frederick, Erin Riley and husband Hunter of Frederick and Megan Grimes of Columbia. Step great grandchildren Rachel and Issac Fouche. Step great great granddaughter Bianca. Brothers Wayne Shank and wife Pat of Damascus and Richard Shank and wife Irene of Thurmont. She was preceded in death by her son Alan Grimes and a sister Catherine May.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P. A. 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville where funeral services will be held 11:00am on Thursday February 28, 2013. Pastor Mark L. Foucart will officiate. Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.
