Afrodite “Evelyn” Kominos, 87, of Ocean City, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2019. She was the wife of 27 years to Stavros Kominos.
Born on February 10, 1931 in Greece, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Maria (Foundas) Genovezos. She came to the United States at the age of 16 and began a wonderful life with her family. She and her family owned and operated several restaurants and businesses. To say Afrodite had a “green” thumb is an understatement. She loved flowers of all kinds and greatly enjoyed the hours spent tending to her gardens. As much as she loved her gardens, she loved her babies more, including her beloved dog Sparky. Her family was her life.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Kominos, Pete Kominos and Theodora Toms and her husband Schley; grandchildren, Stephanie Kominos, Nicole Painter and her husband Branden, Stavros Kominos, Brian Toms, Athena Maloney, Dennis Kominos and wife Andrea, Nikko Kominos, Samantha Kominos and Sydney Kominos; great-grandchildren, Avianna Kominos, Dylan Painter, Bryce Painter, Aria Maloney, Lucille Kominos-Heitmann and Declan Toms.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Genovezos.
