Adam Fortune, 37, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Adam was born February 4, 1977 in Naples, Italy. He was the son of Charles and Karen Fortune. He graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1995 and Frostburg State University in 2000 where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education.
As an educator in Loudoun County, VA he worked as a P.E. Teacher at Lucketts and Catoctin Elementary and spent the last five years at Tuscarora High School. He was an assistant football coach at Broad Run High School from1999-2009 where his team won the VA State Championship in 2008 and 2009. From 2010-2014 he coached at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, VA.
In addition to being a devoted family man, friend, and mentor, Adam was an avid sports fan and devout Christian.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Fortune, his brother Jeremy Fortune and wife Zezette and their children Jeremy, Aliyah, Jacob, Vivian, David, and Manny.
He was the son-in-law of Dennis and Teresa Myers of Smithsburg, MD., brother-in-law to Steven Myers, wife Amanda, and two their two children Calvin and Brady,
A memorial is being held on Sunday, July 13 from 4-7 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. The funeral will be on Monday, July 14 at 11 am at St Paul's United Methodist Church in Smithsburg, MD with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tuscarora High School Football Program so that a scholarship fund can be started in his name.
