A. Lorraine Carder

Ann Lorraine Carder, 87, of Boonsboro, MD passed peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born July 15, 1937, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Matthew George Ebersole and Faye Estella Ebersole.

She was previously employed at London Fog in Boonsboro and JCPenney in Frederick.

Lorraine enjoyed bowling with the South Mountain Ladies League and spending time with her beloved family. 

She is survived by her three children, son, Gregory Carder, and partner, Nancy, of Hagerstown, and daughters, Sherie Carder and Theresa Davis and husband, Terry, all of Boonsboro; one brother, Richard DeVore, of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Allen Carder and wife, Natasha, Julee Booth and husband, Justin, and Tera Rowland and husband, Jackson; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jack Carder; brothers, Harold Ebersole and Ronald DeVore; sister, Jane Bowman; and great-granddaughter, Kamryn Booth. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the funeral home in Boonsboro. Rev. Penny Gladwell will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff and doctors of the Meritus ICU & ED, along with the Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Company 69 for her care.
