Mrs. Wanda Lee Eyler, 68, of Westminster, died on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Dove Hospice House. She was the loving wife of Aubrey "Chico" Eyler for 49 years.
Born February 27, 1949 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Edward K. and Beatrice J. (Fisher) Saltzman.
Wanda and Chico were high school sweethearts who met on a bus while traveling to a state basketball championship tournament.
She has previously worked in retail and as a private nanny. Wanda loved vacations at the beach, entertaining family and friends by her pool, and working in her flower gardens.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, William "Billy" Eyler and wife, Cindy, of Hanover, PA; daughter, Carrie Eyler and fiancé, Ron Kelley, of York, PA; a grandson, Andrew Eyler; siblings, Bobby Saltzman (Joanne) of Annapolis; and Deborah Warfield (Richard), Nancy Saltzman, Rodney Saltzman, and Kathy Brandon (Phil), all of Frederick; nieces and nephews, Danielle Helta, Matthew Warfield (Kris), Natalie Brandon, and Adam Brandon (Samantha); and other great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Saltzman, and his wife, Elaine.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be her cousin, the Rev. Dr. Timothy Fisher.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
