Shirley Stone

Shirley A. Stone, 68, of Boonsboro died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home.

Born September 28, 1952 in Hillsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Payton Elmo Turman and Julia Dean (McPeak) Turman.

Shirley received her GED in 2006 from Frederick High School, and she worked in the food industry for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Shirley was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Brandie Bentz for the loving care given to Shirley during her illness.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda James and husband, Michael; son, Johnny Stone and wife, Sherry; her significant other, Robert Stone; grandchildren, Kevin, Damion, Brianna, Austin, and Madison; six great-grandchildren; her aunt, Libby Hill; one niece; two nephews, several cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Charles Stone; and her sister, Rhonda Dalton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 13 from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Vernon Dalton officiating.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
