Rita attended Gaithersburg High School and graduated from Roberts Wesleyan Junior College in North Chili, NY. She graduated from Abbie Business Institute at age 52 and worked for Calculon, a contractor with the Department of Energy, until she retired. After retirement, she worked at Wal-Mart until 2007. She was a life-long Christian of great faith who worshipped for many years at the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Keymar, MD, and later with the Faithful Servants Fellowship at the Catoctin View Apartments.
Rita was lively, witty, intelligent, and warm-hearted, never failing to regard everyone she met as a friend. She was also thrifty, as was all that generation that grew up in the Great Depression, except where Christmas presents were concerned. Everyone she knew got a Christmas present. She was constantly industrious and a fabulous cook and baker who loved to entertain. Rita has always been liked and valued by her colleagues and dearly loved by her family and many friends.
