Paul Wisner, Sr.

March 12, 1920 — February 18, 2016

Mr. Paul R. Wisner, Sr, 95, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was the husband of Mildred Louise Droneburg Wisner who he married November 20, 1946.

Born March 12, 1920 in McKaig, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles S., Sr. and Goldie May Stone Wisner.

Paul grew up on a farm, later worked at Johnny’s Market, drove a milk truck for his father-in-law, George H. Droneburg, for many years before he became owner of his own milk truck.  Later he worked at Fort Detrick as an animal caretaker retiring in 1991.  He was an avid bowler at Village Lanes and treasurer for 45 years.  Later he bowled at Walkersville Lanes.  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church of McKaig and enjoyed many years of making apple butter at New Market days.  He was a 4-H leader for the Shookstown Boys 4-H Club.  Loved to watch the Baltimore Orioles, telling jokes and sharing time with his family and friends.

In addition to this wife, he is survived by three children Shirley May Varrecchia, Ruby Louise Watkins (Alvin, Jr.), and Paul Ray Wisner, Jr., six grandchildren Greg Lease (Karen) Robert Watkins, John Watkins, Sr. (Ashley Bushman), Jennifer Varrecchia (Jessee McIntire), Traci Watkins (Andy Grove), Rachelle Wisner (Danny Stitely), ten great grandchildren, Ben, Alex and Graham Lease, Tim Brashear Watkins, John Jr, Collan and Blake Watkins, Triston Watkins, Landon Wisner, Camden Stitely, one great great granddaughter Andrey Lease, One sister Ruby Brown and one brother Donald Wisner (Ettie Mae).  Paul was preceded in death by a brother Charles S. Wisner, Jr., one great grandson David Lee Watkins and one granddaughter-in-law Virginia Watkins.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, Monday February 22, from 2-4 and 7-9:00 pm, where services will be held Tuesday, February 23, at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Baker officiating.

Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery
