Michael L. Dorsey, 56, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2014, at College View Nursing Home in Frederick.
Born on February 7, 1958, in Olney, Maryland he is the son of Herman Dorsey of Westminster, Maryland and the late Eleanor E. Dorsey.
Michael graduated in 1976 from South Carroll High School.
Michael is survived by his loving daughter, Krystal Moore and husband, Jason, of Frederick; eight siblings, Daisey Matthews and husband, Larry, of Germantown, Maryland, Wayne Dorsey and wife, Ann, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Mark Dorsey and wife, Gloria, of Hagerstown, Maryland, Donna Hill and husband, Charles, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, Steve Dorsey of Frederick, Ricky Williams of Poolesville, Maryland, Sandy Williams of Sandy Spring, Maryland, and Aretha Grant and husband, Andre, of Hagerstown. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Xavier Chase, Xylana Petties, and Xadrian Moore; aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Bishop Ross Jackson will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
