Mrs. Marie E. Walker, 95, of Frederick died peacefully Friday, November 22, 2013 at Tranquillity at Fredericktowne. She was the loving wife of the late Jack H. Walker, who predeceased her on January 3, 2012.
Born November 7, 1918 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Daisy Shull.
Mrs. Walker was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. Jack and Marie were residents of Powhatan, VA for 39 years prior to moving to the Frederick area to be closer to their son and his family.
She is survived by her son, John Walker and wife, Linda, of Walkersville; two grandchildren, Jack Walker and wife, Maggie, of Middletown; and Angie Henderson and husband, Eric, of Frederick; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Walker, Molly Walker, Braeden Henderson, and Quintin Henderson; a sister, Rachael Jackson of Spartanburg, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Walker; a brother, Edward Shull; and a sister, Alice Pereira.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will begin at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Maryland Chapter, 108 Byte Ct., Frederick, MD 21702.
