Mrs. Lorraine H. Jenkins, 92, of Washington, DC died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her granddaughter Michelle Loveless in Ijamsville, MD. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Jenkins who died in 1989.
Born on February 20, 1922 in Sterling, VA she was the daughter of the late Douglas Luther and Mary Aylett Anderson Hutchison of Loudoun County Virginia. Lorraine was a long time employee of the Wisconsin Avenue Sears and Roebuck Co. Store in Chevy Chase, MD and at the time of her retirement was a Division Manager.
Surviving are children: Carolyn J. Sivers and husband Jon of Montgomery Village, Kenneth L. Jenkins II and wife Frances of Gaithersburg and Mary Ann Anderson of New Market; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson; as well as a sister Frances H. Milligan.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Sharon J. Woomer and a brother, Richard B. Hutchison
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, November 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 5. Interment will take place in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
