Mrs. Lori Anne Geldner Shipley, 50, of Frederick died on Monday, January 19, 2009. She was the loving wife of Gregory A. Shipley.
Born on August 23, 1958 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter Millie Cerstvik and her husband Steve of Frederick and the late John F. Geldner Sr.
Lori had a special love and devotion for her church family and was an active member of Calvary U. M. C., Frederick where she sang in the gospel choir for 29 years, served as lay leader and president of the church counsel.
She was on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Frederick and the Board of Associates at Hood College.
She loved sewing, exercise, being around the water, her roses and gardening. She worked for Plamondon Companies as Director of Human Resources.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is a daughter, Karen Shipley Leggett and her husband Justin of Westminister, sister Suzanne Duvall and her friend Kenny Seward of Frederick, brother John F. Geldner Jr. and wife Donna of Middletown. In laws Kenneth and Doris Shipley of Damascus. Brothers in law Ronald Shipley and his wife Melissa of Frederick and Mark Shipley and wife Kim of Greenwood, SC. God daughter Caroline Strakonsky of Frederick. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 133 West Second Street, Frederick.
Services: Memorial Services will be held on Saturday 10:00am at the Church. Reverend Kenneth Dunnington will officiate. Interment will be private.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mrs. Shipleys name may be made to the Calvary U. M. C., 133, West Second Street, Frederick, MD. 21701.
