Juanita Louise Lewis

Mrs. Juanita Louise Lewis, 82, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, surrounded by her family.

Louise was born on Sept. 21, 1926, in Cumberland. She married Gerald R. Lewis at age 23, and the two shared a wonderful life together serving the Lord in many ways, including her passion for playing the piano.

Mr. Lewis preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2000.

A proud mother, she is survived by her five children, Samuel Lewis and wife, Cleo, Joyce Stewart and husband, Arney, Carol Cregger and husband. E. Cecil Jr., Naomi Underwood and husband, Dale, and Chuck Lewis and wife, Lisa. She cherished many happy memories, including the births and marriages of her many grandchildren, great-grandchilden, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a loving mother, grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 13. She was also the loving sister of John Reckley and wife, Roberta Thelma MacDonald, of Cumberland.

She leaves a lasting heritage of many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who love and serve the Lord, just as she did. She will be missed by very dear friends, including Mary Louise Aiello and Sharon and Ashleigh Grice.



Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Parkway Community Church, 5665 New Design Road, Frederick.

Her pastor, the Rev. Howard Ruley, and assistant pastor the Rev. Guy Masser will officiate.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Parkway Community Church.
