On May 28, 2021, Grace Marie Calabro Dalkiewicz passed away at the age of 96. She was a resident of Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick, MD. She was born in Pittston, PA on September 11, 1924 to Concetta and Samuel Calabro. Grace had two siblings that predeceased her, Charles and Nancy. Grace graduated from Pittston High School and attended Kings College where she studied business. Grace always had a head for numbers and held many positions in banking and bookkeeping.
Grace married Edward B. Dalkiewicz on June 12, 1948 at St. Rocco's Church in Pittston, PA. They were married for over 64 years and had four children. Grace loved her church and was an active member of many parishes. She and Edward were members of the St. Camillus and St. Michael's choir. While with St. Camillus choir, they were able to journey to Italy and perform for the Pope. Grace would often attend daily Mass which gave her great pleasure and joy.
Grace loved music, cooking, being with family and friends, going to the beach and her faith. She often said "Trust in the Lord" and "The Lord always Knows".
Grace and Edward had four children: David (Connie), Samuel (deceased 2013), Edward (Kathleen), and Judith (Stephen), five grandchildren, Stephen (Leah), Daniel, Grace (Lou), Edward, and a step-grandchild, Kiel, seven great-grandchildren, Liam, Wyatt, Michael, Faith, LT, Roman, and Benjamin. Grace also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 3 at St. Michael's in Poplar Springs, MD at 11 a.m. with visitation at church from 10 to 11 a.m.
Interment will be at the Glenwood Mausoleum in Clarks Summit, PA on Saturday, June 5 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Maryland.
