Gloria Jean Chafin Rhodes, age 52, of San Mar Road, Boonsboro, MD, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1956 in Dante, VA, Gloria was a daughter of Betty Marie Mays Chafin of Harpers Ferry, WV, and the late Wilson McNeer Chafin.
She owned and operated Trackside Barber & Beauty Shop in Charles Town, WV.
Gloria was a member of Tri-State Baptist Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of National Rifle Association and National Republican Committee.
In addition to her mother, Gloria is survived by her husband, Kim Randal Rhodes, whom she married on Oct. 9, 2004; three children, Virginia Brooks and John Brewster, both of Georgia, and William Brewster of Harpers Ferry, WV; one stepson, Trinity Rhodes of Boonsboro; seven siblings, Gary Chafin of Cherry Hill, MD, Liz Brewster of Harpers Ferry, Charles Chafin of Catawba, NC, Lisa Schuller of Charlotte, NC, Penny Poe of Hagerstown, Robin Dickinson of Harpers Ferry and Joe Pendley of Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Rebecca Kinser of Florida, Courtney Lafferty of Roanoke, VA, Kaitlyn Woodward, Kyle Fogle and Bo Brewster, all of Harpers Ferry, and Chaz Brooks and Isaac Brooks, both of Dallas, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by one brother, McNeer Chafin Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Pastor Ray T. Love will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
