Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" Carmen Oney, 81, of Frederick, entered eternal life on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. She was the wife of the late Harley Edward Oney, Sr.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Mr. Jackson and Geraldine Ross.
Gerry retired from the National Geographic Society.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Beth Oney and fiance Vernon Neal Howard, adopted son James "Jimmy" Oney; seven grandchildren Amanda, Terrance, Tamarah, Shan, Gerren, Rashad and Jordan Oney; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 nices Pamela Fulford and Carol Allen both of Philadelphia, PA and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by sons Harley Edward Oney, Jr. and Keith Ross Oney, daughter Laverne Marchelle Oney, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 1030-12P where a funeral service will begin at 12PM. Minister Gwendolyn Gillespie will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
