Mr. George E. Morris, Jr, 80, of Ijamsville, MD passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at the University of MD Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. He was the husband of the late Linda P. Morris.
Born on February 25, 1934 in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late George, Sr. and Minerva Payne Morris.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an automotive mechanic for over 50 years. He was a foreman for the MD National Capital Park and Planning Commission. He was an avid football and baseball fan and also enjoyed antique car shows. He was a graduate of Frederick High School, Class of 1952.
He is survived by his two daughters: Terry Geisbert and husband Gerald of Falling Waters, WV and Jayne Logan of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren: Somer Lay and husband Kenny of Lakeland, FL, Autumn Whitson of Lakeland, FL, Steven Geisbert and wife Tiffany who are stationed with the Air Force in Sacramento, CA, and Carrie Rankin and husband Robert III of Falling Waters, WV; four great-grandchildren: Keagan Lay, Landon Lay, Alexia Whitson and Cayden Whitson, all of Lakeland, FL. A sister, Ruth M. Davis and husband William of Adamstown, MD.
He is preceded in death by his brother Kenneth A. Morris.
He will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 1-2PM where a service will begin at 2PM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
