Mrs. Frances E. Fouche, 97, of Frederick, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Glade Valley Center. She was the wife of the late Harry W.T. Fouche, who predeceased her in 1979.
Born October 12, 1920 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Stuart and Mabel (Stup) Geisbert.
Frances graduated from Frederick High School in 1937 and later attended the Visitation Academy. After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper for Thomas and Co. In 1941, she married Harry Fouche and engaged in dairy farming in Mt. Pleasant and Sycamore Flats (which in now Spring Ridge.)
She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, eating fried chicken, sewing, and spending time with her family. Frances was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. In her earlier years, she assisted in the kitchen at New Market Fire Hall. Frances was very precise and had a keen eye for attention to detail. She had been a cancer survivor for 42 years.
Frances is survived by her four children, Thomas Fouche of Frederick; Harry Fouche III and wife, Barbara Neel Fouche of Ijamsville; Rebecca Fouche of Frederick; and Sally Stone and husband, Don, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Annabelle Wright of Solomons; a sister-in-law, Billie Geisbert of Charlotte Hall; seven grandchildren, Julie Radnoff, Jennifer Haws, Brad Stone, Michelle Fouche, April Reardon, John Fouche and Brandon Fouche; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Stuart Geisbert; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Burris Fouche.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with a funeral service to begin at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Jenny Smith from Mt. Carmel UMC.
Interment will be private.
