Mr. Edgar F. "Nick" Nicodemus, 96, of Frederick died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Helen Roderick Nicodemus, who predeceased him on May 9, 2005. They were married for 60 years at the time of her death.
Born December 29, 1920 in Buckeystown, he was the son of the late Henry F. and Nina (Null) Nicodemus.
Mr. Nicodemus was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, having served during World War II. He was a First Lieutenant and served as a Bombardier Flight Instructor. Starting in the mailroom before WWII, he spent most of his career in Personnel as vice-president and later retired as corporate secretary. He loved his work with people and shaping the workforce. He was known as a multi-talented man, with inexhaustible drive who justly earned the admiration and respect of his peers.
He was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick. He was a founding member and leader of Hughes Methodist Church in Wheaton, MD and for many years produced the Maryland and the National Methodist Conferences.
His life was centered around his family and his love of people. He had a real gift of connecting with others and had the most positive outlook of anyone you could know.
