Earl Robertson

Mr. Earl “Tommy” T. Robertson, 77 of Frederick, MD., passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Alice Fogle Robertson, his wife of 55 years.

Born June 30, 1933 in Westminster, MD., he was the son of the late David N. and Lamora Utz Robertson.

Tommy attended St. John’s High School, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland and his Masters Degree from Shippensburg University in PA. He served his Country in the US Army/Signal Corps during the Korean War. During his working career he was employed at Fort Detrick for 5 years, at Hancock Senior High School as a science teacher for one year and at Smithsburg High School as a biology teacher for thirty years. He was a member of the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post #11 and Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 142. He enjoyed trains, gardening, woodworking and helping others.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Valerie R. de Grange and husband Donald A. de Grange, MD of St. Louis, MO, two sisters-in-law Betty Lee of Frederick and Evelyn Wilcom of Monrovia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother Albert N. Robertson.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, June 28, from 6 – 9 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday, June 29, at 1:00 pm with­­­­­­­­­­­­ Deacon Skip Manley officiating.

Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
