Dr. Bernhard “Bernie” Helmut Charlemagne, age 49, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife Irene Mueller.
Born February 12, 1965 in Germany he was the son of Karl and Waltraud Mueller of Germany.
He started flying gliders when he was 16 years old and became an accomplished aviation specialist with over two decades of experience. Bernie travelled extensively throughout Europe, Africa, and South America and found great joy in flying and teaching.
He also received his Master’s Degree in World Politics from The Catholic University of America and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from The University of London.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by a grandmother, Analiese Packulat.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
