Mr. Douglas L. Cook, 71, of Brunswick, Md. died on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at his home.  He was predeceased by his wife, Malinda L. Cook, of 49 years.

Born on January 19, 1944 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Edgar William & Elsie Irene Cook.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Missy Ferrell and husband Danny, son, Doug Cook and wife Shannon,   daughter, Amanda Whitmore and husband Jason.  He was the grandfather to four loving grandchildren, Novalee Deimler, Logan Cook, Bethany and Bryant Payne. He was a devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with them.

Also surviving are siblings brother, Vincent Cook, sister, Barbara Staubs (Lon), brother, Wayne Cook (Aretta), sisters, Linda Staubs and Marie Rogers, brother, Teddy Cook (Cyndi), and sister-in-law Diane Cook.

He is predeceased by brothers Ray Cook and Lyle Cook and sister-in-law Betty Cook, and brother-in-law Edwin Staubs.

Doug will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, Curtis and Debbie Everhart and his caretaker, Kathy Sears.

Doug was retired from Woodland Concrete and Construction of Arcola, VA

He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Brownsville, Maryland.

Doug always had a smile on his face and never knew a person as a stranger.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 8th at the funeral home with Reverend Pete Wilson officiating.

Inurnment will follow at Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
