Dorothy Buck

Dorothy L. Buck , 91, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on August 30, 1926, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Bertha B. Wissinger Pepple.

She worked as a seamstress for London Fog in Boonsboro until she retired. She loved her family, sewing, cooking, antiquing and fishing in Canada.

Dorothy was a member of the Central United Brethren Church in Rohrersville until it closed in 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Preston V. Buck; daughters, Darlene E. Starleper of Boonsboro, Christine M. Barkdoll of Hagerstown and Rosemary L. Long and husband, John, of Frederick; grandchildren, Wendi Starleper, Jason Barkdoll, Lindsey Long and Lauren Long; and her nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Buck; a grandson, Kevin Barkdoll; and was the last surviving member of 11 siblings.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. The Rev. Victor Moon will officiate.  Burial will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in  Rohrersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Coffman Nursing Home Activities Dept., 1304 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
