David E. Allen

David E. Allen, 81, of Boonsboro, died suddenly on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital.



Born on June 17th, 1928 in Bakerton, WV, he was the son of the late William E. Allen and Mary (Roop) Allen Kidwiler.



David served in the US Army from 1952 through 1954, stationed in Germany.



Dave was well know around Boonsboro and was the Owner/Operator of the Sunoco Gas Station on the south end of town.  He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.



He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Moser) Allen; one daughter, Debbie R. Beall and her husband Charles of Williamsport;  one stepson, Ronald E. Cline of Williamsport; one sister, Jeanie Webb and her husband Charles of Berryville, VA; one brother, Dutch Allen and his wife Karen of Ranson, WV; one grandson, Dustin E. Howe of Williamsport; and one step-granddaughter, Rhonda J. Schildtknecht and her husband Donald of Clearspring.  Dave is also survived by 2 step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



David was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Loudon, Edith Morrison and Frances Custer.



Friends may visit at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National PIke, Boonsboro, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 29, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.



A private service and interment will be held at the Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg at the convenience of the family.
