David Cornell

David Howard (Pappy) Cornell, 69, of Ijamsville, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, October 2, 2017, at his home in Ijamsville. He was the husband of Carol Cornell, his wife of 48 years.

Born on November 30, 1947, in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of the late William and Ida Mae Blackman Cornell.

He was an HVAC mechanic working for R.E. Donovan where he retired in 2014. David and his family loved spending time at their Virginia home and traveling to Tennessee. He also enjoyed hunting, butchering and making apple butter. Dave loved being with his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Russell Cornell and wife Angela of Myersville and Chad Cornell and wife Christi of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren: Sophia, Jonathan, Jack, Conner and Chloe; two brothers: Lester Cornell and Wesley Cornell; a sister, Debbie Bermerman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Nancy Jones and Mildred Windsor.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday, October 6, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastors Tim and Donna Ritchie-Martin officiating. 　Interment will be private.
