David Balzer, 47, of Walkersville, MD, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD
Born on October 6, 1969, in Silver Spring, MD, he was the son of Bonnita (Love) Balzer and the late Siegfried "Tom" Balzer.
In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Balzer.
David served eight years in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Operator Second Class. He was stationed in Kamiseya, Japan and Honolulu, Hawaii. While stationed in Kamiseya, he worked as direct support. While stationed in Pearl Harbor, he flew airborne with the Admiral of the Pacific Fleet. David was a Project Manager for ManTech under the Department of Justice. He obtained his pilot's license and loved to fly whenever he could. He enjoyed shooting firearms and he was a member of Cresap Rifle Club. David earned his Bachelor's degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He was working on his Master's degree at Bellevue University until he was diagnosed with cancer, forcing him to withdraw.
He is survived by wife, Stephanie Susan Balzer; children, Cassandra Danielle Balzer (Curtis William Dryman), and Jonathan Aaron Balzer (Danielle Jean Eubank); sister, Michelle Balzer; brother, Jason Balzer.
The service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Interment and service will be at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
