Brian James Bentz, 60, of Frederick, Maryland passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
He was a devoted husband to Molly Bentz for 34 years and loving father to their two extraordinary children, Hannah (Dan) and Kyle Bentz. He was preceded in death by his father James F. Bentz, father-in- law Clement Heddleson and brother in-law-Richard Heddleson. He is survived by his mother, Diane Browne (Joseph) McNally, sisters Diane and Beth (Ron) Quinn, and loved cousins and aunts, all of Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally , his mother in-law-MaryAnn Heddleson, Groveland, MA, in-laws Linda Heddleson, Lakewood, OH, Cathy (Alan) Gillis, Newbury, FL and Nancy (Chris) Wile, West Newbury, MA, eight nieces and nephews, a great niece (Phoebe) and great nephews (Archie and Rhone).
He was raised in Whitehall, Pennsylvania and was a 1978 graduate of Baldwin High School and a 1982 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a B.S. in Accounting and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon.  He was a Certified Public Accountant and Director of Finance at LG-Tek in Elkridge, MD for the past 15 years.
Brian lived in Middletown and Frederick, Maryland for 36 years but was very proud of Pittsburgh and always loved visiting his first home. He had a great love for the beach, the pool, warm weather and cars. He had an unbounded love for time spent in Greece. Family was the most important thing in his life along with socializing with friends.
There will be a private celebration of his life due to COVID restrictions. A memorial will be held in Pittsburgh at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, that his cats Kuzy and Stanley would likely eat, donations may be made in his memory to The American Heart Association.
